Authors: Tambo, Armindo; Rhongo, Domingos; Bangueiro, Guedes
Abstract: One of the phenomena that used to be troublesome in the country for the last years, are the difficulties that students find at the transition from the intermediate education to the high education and, naturally, to the labour market. There are several presuppositions pointing to the weaknesses of the previous education systems, namely, the primary education, the basic education and the intermediate education. The consequence is a poor quality of students at the Universities. Some authors go further saying that the situation is worsened by the existence of diversity and mismatch of the curricula the failure of permanent update of the curricula including the National Education System itself. In a period that the modifications of science and technology are faster than ever, this study is intended to: i) perform a curricula analysis available now in the National Education System; analyse the Laws and supplements and their correlation then; ii) discuss the training quality of the students trained by the basic and intermediate subsystems of education and their transition to the high Education plus the investigation unity as well as the labour market and iii) to challenge the education to a new model based on a curricula modification in different subsystems of Education linking their interdependence with much emphasis on the quality in order to fit nowadays reality, which is the characteristic of a globalized society.

Authors: Tambo, Armindo
Abstract: This article reports on a study about the agricultural sector and its contribution to the scale of the economy in the Central Region of Mozambique. There is very low agricultural production and this adversely affects the population through starvation and severe poverty. The study sought to fill the knowledge gap caused by the lack of empirical research in this area. More specifically, this study examined the reasons for the low contribution of agriculture to the national economy. The major problem faced in Mozambique and in particular the central region is hunger and poverty. The study used qualitative research paradigm. Data were generated through interviews, field observation, document analysis, questionnaires and focus group discussions. Data were analysed through content analyses. The findings show that factors that cause poor crop production in this part of the country is the lack of technology, poor quality of seed used in this process, disorganized and low financial and technical support to producers. The study recommends designing and implementing training approaches for farmers to help them develop valid and coherent personal practical theories, which correspond with the actual production. The study also recommends that government design and implements policies for funding agriculture practices in this region that has good climate and soils for agriculture. It is also recommends Mozambique government adapt models of agricultural production from other countries, such as China, India and Brazil for implementation in the central region of Mozambique.

Title: Disease Management in Cereals and Implication for Food Security in Central Region of Mozambique
Authors: Tambo, Armindo
Abstract: Although Mozambique has good soils and good climate for agriculture, the country population still face difficulties in how to fight against diseases affecting crops such as maize, rice and sorghum. The problem addressed in this article is about how diseases affect the reduction of production and hence food insecurity in the populations of Central Mozambique region. While the physical, economic access to food is a right of all people in all times and all over the world. For example, based on the concept of nutrition security, which involves the physical and economic access to balanced diet and drinking water for all people at all times emphasizing the importance of water in the world (Adrian, 2010). So, the mechanism of how to mitigate these diseases or pests that attack the following products elegant grasshopper, stem borer, microbes and birds should be created, even in toxic chemicals and microbes. (Jasse, 2013). For this purpose, it is necessary to measure the production of cereal crops, growing and harvesting so that mitigation mechanism can be created to diseases and pests through the use of pesticides and chemicals that are used properly. Due to the high price of the same resistance it can be used as a safer alternative and shape first time seeding with Pan 67, a long cycle hydrates with increased resistance to pests and in the second season a variety of short cycle 110-125 hydrates days with lower requirements.
